The Future of Web Development

Well we are all aware that technology is evolving at a rapid rate, but its not just the hardware technology that is evolving but software technology to. We are all aware how the technology of a mobile has evolved, from a huge device with a big antenna on top that could only make phone calls to a small hand held device where you can not just call mobiles and home phones but you can text message, access the internet, play games, take pictures and videos and much much more. The same goes for computers how they have come from huge mainframe computers which filled an entire room to small portable devices which can achieve much greater things.

But a huge industry which can benefit from all these advancements and has to stay on top of the times, is the Web Development industry. As we can now access the internet from smaller and smaller devices web pages will need to be designed to fit these devices. "We're just now starting to think about mobile first and desktop second for many of our products" - Kate Aronowitz, Design Director Facebook. This is just an example of companies who are thinking about the mobile phone consumer, when people access certain internet pages from there mobile phones/Iphones/Android phones/Blackberry's the pages are not fitted for the screen size so a lot of zooming and manoeuvring around. But now companies are beginning to think about this and are starting to employ web developers to help design and re-create their web pages to fit this mobile devices.

Introductory Blog

Well this is my first ever blog. This blog will be used to talk about work I am studying at University, it will be a main focus for my Web Development course. I will be posting and talking about certain programmes which are available to use to help develop your skills to become a Web Developer.

As I am a Games Developer not a Web Developer, please excuse if my terminology and other references are not completely accurate, just send me a comment to correct me, I wont be offended.

Personal opinions of others are welcome to, so please share any knowledge you may already have on Web Development.
